Friends For Life
P.O.Box 70575
Houston, Texas 77270
nokill1@aol.com
www.nokill1.org
Friends for Life is moving Houston forward to a No Kill future though programs that redefine "adoptable." We rescue, medically treat, and place animals into loving homes. 75% of the animals we have already placed would not be saved without our unique programs. Our pet retention programs help to keep animals in homes.
Also advancing our community towards a No Kill future are our humane education programs that teach children that animals are not disposable but are companions who deserve our care and compassion. The connection between violence and indifference to animals and similar behavior against people is so well documented it is axiomatic. The lessons of respect and kindness empower children with ways they can make the world better for animals and ultimately better for all of us.While there is immediate rescue work to be done, the path to permanent change lies in changing attitudes about valuing and caring for our companion animals.

Our Friends Forever

http://www.ffnt.petfinder.org

Our Friends Forever adoption program has many positive and unique features. Our animals receive complete veterinary care, live with loving foster families, and experience many opportunities to become socialized with people and other animals before adoption. We get to know each of our rescued foster animals very well and can, therefore, provide a lot of information to prospective adopter families about each of them.

Our Mission
Lifelong Friends Pet Adoptions (formerly Lago Vista Pet Adoption and Welfare Service, Incorporated) is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter dedicated to preventing animal suffering, rescuing and caring for stray and abandoned dogs and cats and finding homes for these animals, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, and encouraging pet owners to spay and neuter their animals.

We are NOT the average shelter and refuse to participate in the killing of hundreds of healthy, homeless animals that takes place every 60 seconds in America. We are an all volunteer organization, and it has been your continued support and compassion that has allowed us to manage animal rescue challenges, operate and maintain our shelter, and facilitate hundreds of adoptions.

Ponderosa Pomeranian Rescue Inc
PO Box 1376
Round Rock, TX 78680 Fax: 512-597-0852
E-mail: info@ponderapom.com

http://www.ponderapom.com/

Ponderosa Pomeranian Rescue is dedicated to rescuing Pomeranians and other petite breeds. Our mission is to find these dogs new, loving homes, and to provide appropriate vet care. We work with many animal shelters to help reduce pet overpopulation and the number of animals euthanized by local shelters.

The number of animals taken to shelters has been increasing at a staggering rate. Many have had very little contact with people and may need to learn how to interact and trust people again. Most of these dogs are resilient and will respond quickly to love and attention. It has been said that rescue dogs are extremely loyal companions because they can sense that they have been given a second chance at life. Because you are giving them the attention they deserve, you will also be rewarded with a pet that will always show love and appreciation, he will never forget that you were the one that saved his life.

Some of these animals have also been abused/neglected and many need major surgery or medical care due to their neglect. We pay for heartworm treatment which can cost in excess of $400. It is very painful and risky, and many of the dogs we take in are heartworm positive. We also pay for other types of life saving surgery and depend on from donations received by individuals. We do not receive federal funding or grants to support our rescue efforts.
We are a Federal 501(c)3, all donations are tax deductible.

www.whiskerville.org

Whiskerville is a 501c3 nonprofit animal welfare organization formed in February of 2000. We started out very small and have grown significantly since our inception. Our primary goals are:

Work toward eliminating the needless suffering of stray domestic animals by rescuing them from the streets, providing necessary healthcare, and placing them in loving and responsible homes through our active adoption program. While we are small, we can make a big difference with your help!
Educate the public to vaccinate, spay, and neuter domestic animals, thus eliminating euthanasia as a method of animal population control. Warn the public to research the policies, procedures, and practices of any animal control facility or shelter before surrendering an animal to them.
Provide financial assistance for responsible families who cannot afford veterinary care and promote any and all efforts to bring affordable veterinary services into our county. This would eliminate the need to transport animals to other counties for low cost spay/neuter and other veterinary services.
Eventually provide boarding services, animal healthcare, and a home for pets whose owner(s) die or become unable to care for them at our no-kill facility. This service must be prearranged. Call us for details.

Our mission is to improved the health, welfare, and adoptability of shelter animals. We provide vaccines, medications, and emergency veterinary care for adoptable shelter dogs and cats. We assist shelter staff by bathing and grooming shelter animals, facilitating adoptions, transporting animals to veterinary appointments, walking dogs and cuddling cats at the shelter, and fostering them in our homes or boarding them at vet clinics or boarding kennels if none of us has a nook or cranny available. Our volunteers also photograph pets at the shelter and post them on the shelter's web site. In other words, we strive to do things that the shelters, with their limited staffs and budget, cannot do.

Shelter Buddies has its own PetFinder site, www.petfinder.org/shelters/TX1067.html. Our email address is ShelterBuddies@gmail.com.

PAWS ANIMAL RESCUE, Inc

PAWS ANIMAL RESCUE, Inc. is a 501-C3 Non-Profit ALL VOLUNTEER organization. Our mission is to save both dogs and cats in kill only shelters. Paws has recently started trapping, spay, neuter and releasing feral cats. This is a new endeavor and we will need the community's support in this area.

All of the animals in our program are fostered in a home environment. The dogs are not kept outside or in runs or in kennels. They are kept inside our homes and are crate trained and potty trained and are taught basic commands. All of our foster homes for both dogs and cats must pass TARPA standards. We inspect every foster home to make sure our cats and dogs are kept in a clean environment. Our cats are not kept in cages or condos. They are kept inside our foster homes with the freedom to run around. These home conditions make it easier for them to adapt to their new home environment when they are adopted.

Our website is www.cars.petfinder.org. Our main focus is to help as many dogs and cats as possible in Austin and surrounding counties. We take in abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted dogs and cats from all the area. Each animal is seen by our vet. Dogs are tested for heartworms and treated if they are positive. Cats are tested for feline AIDS and Leukemia. Each animal is vaccinated accordingly, wormed and spayed or neutered. Everything is age appropriate. Once these things are done, the animal is then put up for adoption. We have some dogs we’ve had for 3 or 4 years. We know that one day they will find the right human for them. We are a no kill shelter unless there is major aggression issues or health issues that we cannot help with.
