Pearl River County SPCA in Picayune, Mississippi

www.prcspca.org

Pearl River County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a Mississippi state non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the welfare and humane treatment of animals throughout the county. It operates solely from funds provided locally.

Adoption fees vary depending on species, sex, and spay/neuter status. Cats and kittens are $75, all spayed/neutered with shots. Dogs and puppies are $90, all are spayed/neutered, have a microchip and at least some of their shots. All pets placed for adoption have been socialized and are good with people.

Our shelter serves the entire Pearl River County . There is no charge to surrender an animal and we never refuse to take one. We have several programs available if needed to help defray the cost of a pet's spay or neuters.

Olive Branch Humane Society's Animal Haven

We are a non -profit group of volunteers dedicated to help homeless animals in Desoto County. We are a 501C group which allows your donations to be tax deductable. We spay and neuter all of the dogs and cats that come through our group before they leave us for new homes. We also are involved in community outreach to help educate the community on the importance of vaccinating, spaying and neutering their pets. Our new facility has been named the Animal Haven, we wanted a name that would reflect a safe harbor for the animals that we were saving from death row shelters as well as a welcoming name for visitors to feel comfortable coming to view the animals. The public can feel comfortable knowing that this is not a depressing shelter but a happy temporary home for these pets until a new permanent family can be found for them.

Choctaw Ridge Farms

CRF is a hooved animal rescue. We take owner surrenders, but also rescue animals out of kill pens at sale barns. We would love to be able to pull more Bovine. But the meat prices are such that we are unable to outbid the knackers. We can offer assistance to owners needing to place their dogs and cats. But unable to take them into rescue.

Brookhaven Animal Rescue League
www.barl.net

The Brookhaven Animal Rescue League is a nonprofit, no-kill, volunteer-based animal welfare group. We are a small organization which does big work in Brookhaven, MS. All BARL animals are vet checked, vaccinated and spayed/neutered before coming into the Adoption Center. Our dogs are also micro-chipped. We also work to educate our area about the benefits of spay/neuter and offer spay/neuter financial assistance as long as the money holds out. For 25 years, BARL was an all-volunteer organization. This past year we added two part-time employees, however, our volunteers do a tremendous amount of work. With only about 10 volunteers handling the majority of duties we are proud that our adoptions each year range from 200-250 animals (dogs/cats). Our aggressive spay/neuter program has grown and this past year, BARL spayed/neutered over 400 owned animals in our area (this does not include the 200-250 BARL animals). You may contact us at 601-757-4367 or info@barl.net.
